Path to Independent Living

The Path to Independent Living at PRPV The Pines is an exciting new hands-on program designed to help individuals gain the skills and confidence needed to live independently. Located in a fully equipped home in Williamsburg, OH—just down the road from our ADS Center—this program provides a real-life learning environment that mirrors everything found in a typical household.

The Path to Independent Living focuses on practical, everyday skills that build independence and self-sufficiency. Participants will receive personalized instruction and support from our experienced staff in areas such as:

• Daily living skills and personal responsibility
• Budgeting and money management
• Grocery shopping and meal planning
• Creating grocery lists based on foods already in the home
• Cooking and kitchen safety
• Household chores and cleaning routines
• Laundry and bedroom organization
• Basic home maintenance, including changing smoke alarm batteries and checking furnace filters

Our goal is to ensure each individual learns the essential skills needed to successfully manage a home and feel confident living on their own.

This program is perfect for anyone preparing to move into their own place, as well as individuals who currently live at home but want to become more independent and contribute more fully to their household.
